Laura and Karl live in York, so we met up halfway between us both, in Harrogate, for their pre-wedding shoot. Valley Gardens is a great spot for photos. There are plenty of backdrops and areas to make use of, including the Colonnade walk and the Old Magnesia Well Pump Room. Usually in spring, there are also plenty of colourful flowers starting to appear. Spring, however, has been a bit delayed this year with the cold weather we’ve been having (I don’t think I’ve ever had the heating on so late in the year before!) Anyway, the gardens were still a bit sparse in the flower department at the beginning of April, but whatever time of year it is, it’s still a fantastic location for a shoot.
We had a really lovely chat with our bride and groom to be, over a cuppa before their shoot. Their wedding this month (how is it May already!?) will be our first time photographing at The Normans near York. I’ve heard such amazing things about this place so it will be great to finally experience it, especially as we’ll be back there again in October for another wedding! I tell you, you wait forever to shoot at a particular venue, and then two weddings come along at the same time, like buses! 😉
Look out for Laura and Karl’s wedding on our blog in the coming weeks…we can’t wait–eek!
