Phil and Amy married in July at The Holy Trinity Church at the top of the High Street in Skipton (Phil used to be a choir boy!) They continued the celebrations with an intimate reception afterwards at The Tempest Arms in Elslack, with close friends and family.
Living in Skipton, we’ve visited the Tempest Arms before (it’s well known for great food and a traditional country pub feel) but this was the first time we had the chance to photograph a wedding there.
Colin joined Amy at a cottage in the Dales where she got ready with her mum and three bridesmaids (who were also her sisters). I met up with Phil and the groomsmen at his family home in Skipton.
We live within walking distance of Holy Trinity in Skipton, and I often walk my dog through the landscaped grounds. It’s such a pretty church and I’d always wondered what it would be like to have a wedding there. Well, now I know, and it’s a beautiful setting.
Phil greeted guests at the church (and put the finishing touches to his speech!) whilst Amy travelled into Skipton by vintage car.
After the ceremony, we headed off to The Tempest Arms, stopping on the way for some photos with the happy couple in a quiet spot. It was a perfect way to let their guests start to enjoy the wedding reception, have a few minutes to themselves for photos, and then return to make a grand entrance to everyone at the venue.
Once there, it was time to mingle with guests, and take a sneaky peek at the room set up for the wedding breakfast. Phil and Amy put so much work into their decor, and it really paid off! Amy must have spent hours making the mini sheep they used as place settings–they looked fantastic (see below!) And Phil did a grand job of making the sweet cart as well.
We had lots of fun at this wedding, and we must also thank the Tempest Arms (and our lovely couple) for looking after us with some super yummy food as well.
We’re now eagerly awaiting the arrival of a beautiful handmade wedding album of Phil and Amy’s day, which Colin designed with them. Hopefully it will be an early Christmas treat for them, and will provide wonderful memories to look back on for many years to come!
Scroll down for just a few photos from Phil and Amy’s day…(and see their Skipton pre-wedding shoot here).
What did Phil and Amy say about us?
“We cannot thank you enough for the beautiful photos of our wedding, we love them! You were brilliant to work with and made us feel so at ease throughout the day. We would book you again in an instant! Can’t wait to see the album, no doubt we will treasure it forever! Love from, Amy & Phil”
