James and Maddy are getting married at Skipbridge Farm next year and they decided they wanted to do their engagement shoot there as well.
It was our first visit to the farm (located between Harrogate and York) and we just loved it. It’s a family business and Gill was so welcoming. You can really feel her enthusiasm for the venue, weddings, and helping couples to achieve exactly what they want out of their day.
When Maddy got in touch she told us that James wasn’t too comfortable with having his photo taken. It’s something we hear on a regular basis (let’s face it, having cameras pointed at you can be a little weird, particularly if you’ve never had professional photos taken before). That’s why engagement shoots are so great – not only can you get to know us a little better and experience how we work, but it’s a great opportunity for us to get to know you both better as well, and to get you feeling relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. Most of our couples tell us how much they enjoyed the session afterwards, even if they weren’t sure before.
And as you can see below, James was a complete pro for the camera! He and Maddy make a lovely couple and we had a really fun shoot using some of the fantastic quirky locations at the farm…we can’t wait to photograph the wedding next year!
We must be in the Shire – it’s a hobbit house!
