Angela and Rich’s wedding in August was quite possibly the rainiest wedding we had this year, but it didn’t stop them having an amazing day! We’re always reminding couples not to worry if it does rain; there are always things we can do. But most importantly, don’t let it spoil your day–embrace it! And Angela did just that…she couldn’t wait to get out in the rain for photos and we just love couples who don’t let a bit of rain and mud stop them! Angela didn’t stop smiling the whole day through and once it started raining, the wellies came out and the jumping in puddles began, wedding dress and all. But you know, it was worth it. The main umbrella shot you see above is now on a big canvas on Angela and Rich’s wall at home so they can look at it every day and be reminded of what a wonderful day their wedding day was, and how much fun they had.
Colin started the day with Angela and the bridesmaids in Boroughbridge, whilst I headed closer to York to be with Rich and his best man getting ready. Then it was back up to the church near Boroughbridge for some last minute decorations before Angela arrived – lots of handmade touches here and all the flowers in the church were grown by Rich’s own fair hands! This part of the day stayed dry and we headed off to Skipbridge Country Weddings near York for the reception.
Angela and Rich chose a yurt for the farm at Skipbridge; they had put so much effort and hard work into the decor with so many handmade details once again, and it looked stunning.
Just as the wedding breakfast was about to begin, the rain started. Nothing too heavy but by the time everyone was seated and the speeches began, we literally couldn’t hear much of the poor speakers due to the pounding rain on the top of the yurt! And that was it for the rest of the day. I don’t think I’ve seen rain like it at any other point this year; it really was heavy (plus thunder and lightning!) so Angela and Rich were great sports to want to go out in it for photos.
The team at Skipbridge did their utmost to keep the water at bay and did a wonderful job as usual, and all the guests had a great time inside the yurt throughout the evening – thankfully the bar was attached to the yurt so no real need to go far!:)
Here are a few photos from the day…congratulations again Mr and Mrs Wright!
P.S. Thanks for showing the entire population of Mexico (well, almost) your umbrella photo whilst on honeymoon – we love you! x
