Amy and Kris made me smile (a lot!) on their pre-wedding shoot at Newmillerdam Country Park in Wakefield. They’re such a sweet couple and hearing Amy tell Kris how much she loves him totally brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye. Yes, I get a bit overly emotional sometimes, but couples who aren’t afraid to show how they feel just make me go a bit soft! 🙂
Kris was super relaxed, and although I think Amy was a little worried about the shoot, they were absolute naturals for the camera. We loved working with them both. Even we had some nerves about this shoot, because it involved something completely new for us as well. Amy and Kris are both deaf and communicate primarily through sign language and a little bit of lip-reading. When we first met them earlier this year, we were armed with notepads and pens so that we could write things down for eachother. But even then, I knew they were a couple we’d love to work with. We were so pleased when they booked us there and then!
But, as we talk rather a lot on pre-wedding shoots, and of course, help couples with direction, even we were slightly worried about how it might go! It was an occasion where having the pre-wedding shoot was also really helpful for us, as it was good practice for the wedding day for us too! As it turned out, Amy and Kris were experts, and I think we all worked together really well. It made me ridiculously excited for their wedding which takes place this weekend at Applewood Weddings near Leeds. It’s our first time visiting this woodland venue, so we’re looking forward to seeing what it has to offer.
Look out for a blog post on the wedding soon!
