Another new venue for us this year was for Rachel and Pete’s Kilnsey Park Estate wedding photography. If an outdoor wedding is your kind of thing, you’ll want to check it out. For Rachel and Pete, there was a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the blazing July sun (I think it was one of the hottest days of the year!) underneath the stunning backdrop of Kilnsey Crag. Partying followed in tipis in the same field, complete with a few sheep enjoying the celebrations too!
More about Kilnsey Park Estate weddings
If you’re planning a festival style wedding, with a boho feel, it’s an ideal place. There are panoramic views in every direction from the Crag, to the fields, and the river that meanders alongside. Kilnsey is also licensed for legal civil ceremonies, so there’s no need to go anywhere else for your ceremony first. It can all happen in one place!
I joined Pete in the morning as he got ready for the big day in a holiday cottage just around the corner. And Colin headed a little further into the Dales, up to Kettlewell, to join Rachel for her bridal prep.
Rachel and Pete are the proud owners of a vintage VW camper van, so of course, it had to be used for wedding transport! Whilst all the guests arrived at the wedding field, to a welcome drink in the shade of the tipis, Rachel and her wedding party were travelling to the ceremony by van.
Personal touches for your Kilnsey Park Estate wedding
I can’t rave enough about how beautiful everything looked on the day–from the ceremony set up, to the decor in the tipis, to Rachel’s absolutely stunning Anna Campbell dress. Pete’s mum grew all of the wild flowers you’ll see, and I think you’ll agree she did an amazing job. Rachel’s maid of honour’s mum made the cake, one of Pete’s friends brewed their beer for them, and one of the groomsmen played the accordion during the ceremony. It’s personal touches like these that I think really bring a day together and make it something truly special.
Another awesome part of the day was seeing Shaomai, the couple’s gorgeous Sharpei dog, as flower girl walking down the aisle! She was able to spend most of the day at the wedding (sheltering in the shade!) and I know it meant the world to Rachel to have her there. Dogs at weddings are really one of my absolute favourite things, so if you have one (or more!) and you’re making him or her a part of the day, do tell us all about it!
What did Rachel and Pete say about us?
“Thank you for our beautiful wedding photos. Our family and friends love them as well. Thank you for the help leading up to the wedding and always being so prompt at replying to emails. You’ve both been lovely to work with throughout the whole process. We had an amazing day!”
