We were really thrilled when Anna and James chose us for their Gamekeeper’s Inn wedding photography. Despite the venue only being twenty minutes away from our home in Skipton, it was our first time photographing a wedding there. That’s always exciting for us!
Anna and James were both getting ready at the venue, and the ceremony and reception were held there too. Colin photographed James and the boys in the morning, whilst I was with Anna and her mum and bridesmaids as they got ready.
I always think the most relaxed wedding mornings are the ones where the bride and groom are both getting ready at their venue. There’s no travel stress for anyone, and there’s simply more time. Especially in that last hour before the ceremony when emotions are ramping up, and nerves are starting to kick in! If all you have to do is take a few steps to your ceremony, it really does help to keep everyone calmer.
Of course, that’s not always possible, particularly if you have a church ceremony. But it’s something to bear in mind if you’re thinking about where to get ready on the morning of your wedding.
Weddings at The Gamekeeper’s Inn
The Gamekeeper’s Inn is close to Grassington in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It has a function room especially for weddings (The Netherside Suite) which is light and bright. With wooden beams it has a rustic, country feel.
It’s fully licensed for weddings so you can have your legal ceremony there, before celebrating with your family and friends for the rest of the day.
There are several bedrooms and lodges for you and your guests, plenty of parking, and there’s also a spa and leisure centre. Anna had her bridal hair done at the on-site hairdressers, which is also very handy on your wedding day!
Anna and James’ day was warm and sunny–perfect for guests to spill out of the Netherside Suite after the ceremony, for drinks on the terrace and lawn. There’s also a cosy bar for drinks inside.
Set in a leisure park, The Gamekeepers Inn has plenty of grounds for a wander for your wedding photos. We were able to whisk Anna and James away from their guests for a short while, for a peaceful wander down tree-lined paths. It was a lovely little escape for them to take in being newly married, before returning to mingle with their guests before the wedding breakfast.
What did Anna & James say about us?
“Thank you both so much again for your amazing work on the day and for the amazing photos. We loved looking back through them!”
So, here are a few photos from their day. We’ll be back at The Gamekeeper’s Inn for a further two weddings next year already, so it was great to see what the venue had to offer, and we’ll be looking forward to our return!
