Adele and Martin had the most beautiful spring day for their wedding on the Broughton Hall estate in April. Pure blue skies and sunshine; it really made the most of this stunning location (which, incidentally, is only 10 minutes from our house!)
We started the day at Eden, a huge contemporary home on the estate, built from a 17th century barn. Both the bride and groom were getting ready here (it’s big enough that you can stay out of eachother’s way!) so Colin joined Adele, whilst I spent the morning with Martin.
After a church ceremony at All Saints, Broughton, everyone returned to Eden for a drinks reception. What a perfect venue on such a gorgeous day; Eden has a large garden and is surrounded by panoramic views. I’ve been lucky enough to live in a few countries now and I still think that nowhere beats the English countryside on a warm, sunny day. I know we don’t always have the weather for it, but when we do, it’s the best place in the world!
The wedding breakfast was also held at Eden, in a beautifully decorated room (I loved Adele’s choice of flowers with a variety of bright colours which popped against the light, white walls of the house). After food and speeches, the party continued a short walk away, over at Utopia, where evening guests arrived and everyone danced the night away.
Utopia is a pretty unique venue to this area–a sleek, modern building, with floor to ceiling glass windows, but it’s also set in its own walled garden. So pretty and sophisticated!
We had a fantastic day and I must also give a special mention to the friendly, helpful staff from GFS Catering for looking after us and feeding us so well on the day–thank you!
I’ll leave you with a few words from Adele and Martin themselves…
“Thank you very much–the photographs are amazing!! It has made our weekend. We love them all! They capture the day brilliantly and have shown us some bits we either forgot or simply didn’t see!”
All our very best wishes for a long and happy future together, guys!
