So I’m a bit behind in blogging Tom and Christina’s Cow and Calf engagement shoot, because we’ve already photographed their wedding now. It always happens at this time of year. No matter my good intentions, we’re so busy that blogging sometimes gets pushed aside. And every year I say “it won’t happen this year”, but here we are again!
We’ll be featuring their wedding on the blog in the coming weeks, but before then, here’s a peek at their pre-wedding shoot which took place in Ilkley. It was one of the hottest days of the summer (I think possibly the only shoot we’ve done in shorts this year! We try to be professional but hey, it was just too darned hot!) Their wedding day turned out to be a scorcher too, although I promise we didn’t wear shorts for that!
As much as we love the heat, it’s actually a challenge to shoot in full on sun in the summertime. Especially when it’s as open as Ilkley Moor. But of course, we’re used to shooting in all kinds of weather and circumstances so we’ve learnt some tricks along the way. It’s all about finding some shady spots and places where you won’t be squinting into the sun or faced with harsh shadows.
It was great practice for Tom and Christina to get used to having their photo taken before their big day. If having your photo taken fills you with dread, you should really think about having a pre-wedding shoot. I promise you’ll feel much better about it afterwards, and you’ll see how easy and fun it really is (honestly!)
