I can’t believe it’s already the middle of January 2020. 2019 flew by for us, and it looks like 2020 will be the same. Our first wedding of the year is already on the horizon in February!
Our Best Yorkshire Wedding Photography of 2019
At the beginning of each year, we always review our favourite images from the previous year, and pop them in a ‘best of’ blog post to look back on. We can look back fondly, and proudly, and think about what we want to achieve in the coming year to push ourselves further.
There are so many images that make me smile and I remember each wedding day so individually. A 2016 bride contacted me the other day and said “I’m not sure if you remember me…” Well, of course I did! The reality is that I remember every couple from every wedding we’ve ever done over the last 8 years! I may not always remember a name straightaway, but I don’t forget the faces, and those faces take me straight back to that wedding day. It’s hard to say how much we care about what we do without sounding cheesy but getting to know our couples and really feeling part of such a special day by photographing it, is hard to forget.
It’s also one of the reasons we work so hard on a wedding day. We want to capture as much as we possibly can—whether that’s your parents’ faces during the ceremony, the laughter and fun with your friends, or the emotion during the speeches. We want you to have a set of images that takes you back to those moments as well as showing you the ones you missed.
Weddings in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Beyond…
We returned to some of our favourite venues in the last year, including Falcon Manor, Applewood Weddings, The Devonshire Fell, The Devonshire Arms, Broughton Hall, and Kilnsey Park Estate. This year also saw us photographing a few ‘backyard’ marquee and tipi weddings at some stunning family homes in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Every one of them lucked out with fabulous weather too!
Talking of fabulous weather, Colin also travelled back to his island home of Bermuda twice. On the second visit, he also photographed the wedding of a Yorkshire couple who got married on the beach there!
We ended our wedding season in November with a beautiful, intimate wedding at The Devonshire Arms. Complete with a golden retriever ‘dog of honour’ and such heartfelt wedding vows that I was hiding my tears behind the camera, it was a perfect end to the year.
Heading into 2020
We must give a huge thank you to all the couples that we’ve photographed in the past year. Thank you for asking us to photograph your special days; thank you for putting your trust in us; thanks for all the lovely words and thank you cards we received; and thank you for helping to keep our business going!
We can’t wait to do it all again in 2020. If you’re booked in with us already, we can’t wait to create some magic with you. If you’re getting married and haven’t booked a photographer yet—get in touch now and tell us all about your plans!
